Lodestone is a Los Angeles based Asian American theatre company that has many years of experience putting up cutting edge plays and is currently seeking new work for our upcoming seasons.Our productions usually span beyond just the Asian American experience, thus dealing with themes and stories that do not have to directly address the Asian Pacific American experience though our plays will be cast with (mostly) APA actors. Our mission to support and nurture the development of new work from diverse artists and to build new audiences for the work is carried out through five main programming objectives:-- to present and encourage new and experimental work in performance art, literature, dance, and music by providing a venue for emerging and established artists to develop this new work in a safe, supportive environment-- to discover the needs and interests of artists of color by providing a venue in which cultural, personal, and societal issues may be explored and addressed -- to furnish gay and lesbian writers and performing artists with the opportunity to present their work in a supportive and non-homophobic atmosphere-- to give writers of poetry, prose, nonfiction and science fiction the chance to read and/or speak before an audience -- and to contribute to the community through periodic AIDS benefits and by making Dixon Place available as a meeting place for social change organizations.All the work at Dixon Place is selected and presented (we do not rent out the space for shows), and the artists are remunerated. Dixon Place has performances 5-7 nights a week, and performers are generally allotted one shared evening. Most of the presented work is new and developing. Deadline: submit between April 31 and July 31 (postmark)Paragon Theatre accepts submissions of original full-length and short scripts by Colorado playwrights for The Trench every year from April 1st through July 31st.Designed to give Colorado playwrights the opportunity to develop and improve their writing while gaining vital exposure to a larger audience, Paragon's Trench series drew over 200 audience members to its staged readings of selected unpublished plays in 2006. Saints and Hysterics, one of the selected scripts from the 2003 season of The Trench, was produced as a fully-mounted production in Paragon's 2004 season. In 2005 Paragon commissioned Ellen K. Graham to write a play as a collaborative development project after she participated in the Trench's inaugural season. A full production of Ms. Graham's commissioned play, How We May Know Him, will be mounted in Paragon's 2007 season.
All submissions must be original scripts not previously produced. Submissions must be postmarked by July 31st for consideration for the following year's Trench season. Submissions received after July 31st will be considered for the next year's Trench season. All submissions must be accompanied by a cover letter that includes the author's name, mailing address, e-mail address and phone number. Submitting playwrights must be Colorado residents.

IMPACT THEATER’S THIRD ANNUAL WINTER ONE ACT FESTIVALDeadline: 9-2-2007
Impact Theater, Prospect Heights' neighborhood theater, is announcing a call for one-act submissions for its Third Annual Winter One Act Festival to be held in February 2008.
Submissions are open to all ages and levels of experience. Submissions should meet the following criteria:
* work must either be an unpublished, original piece OR the submitter must retain ALL rights to the piece (submission of piece indicates that submitter retains all rights to their work) * approximately 25 minutes in length (10 - 20 minutes ideal, a little longer or a little shorter is okay) * minimal set/props would be appreciated

Now in its 7th year, hotINK is an international play reading series, presented by Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, that has featured plays from Austria, Canada, Cuba, France, Germany, Greece, Morocco, Portugal, Québec, Serbia, Syria, The Netherlands, the U.K. and the U.S. The series brings together professional playwrights, directors and actors with the talented students and alumni of the TSOA Drama Department Undergraduate Acting Studios.
Previous festivals have presented work by U.S. writers such as Migdalia Cruz, Anton Dudley, Jeffrey Hatcher, Len Jenkin, Heather McDonald, Keith Reddin and Mac Wellman.Submission Guidelines· Submission deadline: Postmarked by September 15, 2007.· Full-length plays that have not had productions in the U.S. are preferred but one-acts will be considered.
