SCRIPT IN A MONTH CHALLENGE

I thought you'd be interested in hearing about Script Frenzy, the nonprofit write-a-script-in-a-month challenge brought to you by the same folks who produced National Novel Writing Month. This June, thousands of aspiring writers from around the world will spend 30 days hammering out a full-length screenplay or stage play as part of the Script Frenzy challenge.

They will meet, encourage, and kvetch together in our online Forums and gather at local cafes for group write-ins and icy coffee drinks. Participants don't receive three-picture deals or cash awards for their efforts; but on July 1, they'll have a finished first draft, a sense of accomplishment, and a new community.

The L.A. region is already 50 writers strong and growing daily, and municipal liaisons are staging write-ins and parties on the West Side, North Hollywood, the Valley, and other LA locales. The free (donation-fueled) fun starts on June 1: Check it out at www.ScriptFrenzy.org.
