sculpture at the moma

DAILY CREATOR L.P. SENDS US THIS WONDERFUL DESCRIPTION OF HER EXPERIENCE WITH RICHARD SERRA'S SCULPTURE:

I didn't expect to be lifted in a caress, but that is exactly what I felt upon entering Richard Serra's sculpture named Intersection II in the garden at MOMA. I stood transfixed, allowing the feeling of weightlessness to both calm and energize me.

The giant steel curves enveloped me in a cocoon like safety while the open sky invited me to live fully, courageously. Then I discovered the acoustics, the tonal center of the piece shifting from one tone to another as I sang long tones, finding the wandering points of resonance between the dynamic steel ribbons.
