Play Group is a vibrant and eclectic group of emerging writers who gather twice a month at Ars Nova to share new work and get peer feedback. The group offers members the chance to develop their plays with peer support; to be inspired by each other’s work; to form collaborative relationships; and to build a strong sense of community within Ars Nova.

Selection Criteria

If you consider yourself an emerging playwright, you are eligible to apply. In selecting new members, we will take into account the strength of the submitted play, what the writer stands to gain from membership at this point in his or her career, and the overall balance of voices and styles within the group. Women and writers of color are encouraged to apply.

How To Apply

Applications consist of one full-length play, a resume, two professional references and a personal statement describing what the playwright hopes to gain from membership. Please click here for an application form.

Applications for Play Group 2008 must be postmarked by October 5th, 2007 to be eligible for consideration. Applications cannot be accepted via email.
