NOMADSLAND PRESENTS
Washington DC Film Series
December 2009 - June 2010
NomadsLand Presents Film Series in Washington DC is seeking six social issue documentaries for the 2009-2010 season. (See our trailer here.)
For two successful years, NomadsLand has held monthly documentary screenings in conjunction with legendary progressive eatery, bookstore and salon Busboys and Poets. Our aim this year is to coordinate closely with Washington, D.C. area nonprofits and social enterprises to create 6 themed nights on important social issues and frame the discussion with a fantastic feature documentary.
To see our listing of past films and our upcoming scheduled event dates, click here at MeetUp.
Each screening consists of an independent feature film and 30-minute round-table discussion with the filmmaker. International filmmakers field questions after the screening - whether in-person or via phone or Skype video conferencing.
If you would like your film to be considered for the upcoming season, please send the following information to filmfestival@nomadsland.com.
- The name of the film and a short synopsis
- Your association with the film (producer, distributor, director, etc.)
- A list of festivals the film has been featured in (you must have at least one)
- Links to the film's webpage, critical reviews, online video trailers or full-length streaming-
Your preferred date of screening from our Calendars on Facebook or Meetup.
We prefer newer films (made in the last two years) but will consider all entries. Our deadline is December 10, 2009. We program on a first-com first-serve basis.
We also encourage you to check out our new website and join our growing community site.
