French American Cultural Exchange Invites Applications for Etant donnés: The French-American Fund for Contemporary Art

A program of the French American Cultural Exchange ( http://www.facecouncil.org/ ), Etant donnés: The French-American Fund for Contemporary Art offers grants to American nonprofit institutions organizing exhibitions, installations, artist residencies, publications, or other projects by living French artists or to French nonprofit institutions presenting the same types of projects involving American artists.

Qualifying exhibitions may be in the fields of painting, drawing, sculpture, architecture, and design, as well as video art or anyform of artistic endeavor involving new technologies.Only nonprofit institutions may submit applications to the fund.

American institutions must demonstrate their 501(c)(3) status;French organizations must provide proof of equivalent status for eligibility. Applications for projects that have already begun are ineligible.The Artistic Committee prefers to review projects at least six months before they begin, and only projects starting at least eight weeks after the application deadline are eligible.

The amount of the grant requested cannot exceed 50 percent of the total budget for the project.Visit the French American Cultural Exchange Web site for complete program information, including a list of past grantees and the application form.
