You've done your "problem" letter and your Dear Abby "response" letter. Now it's time to write your "follow-up" letter. This will let you know how things ended up for your character.
DAILY CREATIVITY EXERCISE:
Reread the Dear Abby response letter. Take a moment to visualize your character taking her advice. How would his/her life change? How would their behaviour change?
Now, give yourself 10 minutes to write a "follow-up" letter in the voice of your character to Dear Abby. Pretend that six months has passed and you're writing to thank her for the advice and tell her what happened in these last months with the changes you made - the changes she suggested. What were the results? How did other people respond to these changes?
Write for the full 10 minutes. Don't stop - just let your hand keep moving across the page. See what happens.
